Sector C – Ship Control

The Ship Control Sector is responsible for the control of the Authorized Organizations (Classification Societies), the control of the safe management of the companies and ships, the control of the management of security from illegal actions of ships, ports and port facilities, the control of approval and visa studies and monitoring of shipbuilding, refurbished or initially inspected ships, approval of ship construction materials and equipment, inspections and controls on them and issuance of their required government safety certificates. To achieve the above objectives, the Sector directs and controls the work of its affiliated organic units and includes the following Directorates:

a. Regulations and Control of Organizations Directorate

b. Ships' Design and Construction Directorate

c. Ship Inspection Directorate

d. Control Management of Ship Security and Port Facilities Directorate
