The Directorate for Shipping is the competent Directorate for the qualitative and quantitative development of the nationalshipping sector, mainly for undertaking initiatives for enhancing the competitiveness of the Greek Shipping, handling all relevant issues facing Greek vessels and their seafarers around the globe, coordinating the national shipping Policy at European and International level, as well as for monitoring the establishment of domestic and foreign shipping companies, through its 4 units, as follows:
(a) Shipping Policy Unit
(b) Shipping Companies Unit
(c) International Organizations and European Union Unit
(d) Ship’s Registry Unit
