Maritime search and rescue functions include:
- Conduct of maritime SAR operations within the Greek Search and Rescue Region (SRR) on a 24/7 basis
- Operation on a 27/4 basis of Piraeus JRCC in cooperation with Hellenic Air Force (HAF) and Hellenic Navy (HN).
- Cooperation with other competent domestic authorities in the field of Search and Rescue
- Cooperation with foreign search and rescue centres and authorities
